Using the JQuant system

The JQuant web site uses Janeway, an open-source software with some custom code. Everything is licensed under the AGPL. Therefore anyone is free to use and modify the software, so long as they make their changes similarly open.

Registration, login and password reset

All authors, editors and reviewers must be registered to JQuant. Registration gives access to personal pages for all the roles played in the journal.

Registration is easy and free of charge. Click here to register, or use the link available on the top-right corner of the JQuant home page.

You can sign in to JQuant either by using your JQuant username and password or via your ORCID account. If you sign in via your ORCID account, you will be requested to enter your JQuant username and password only the first time in order to correctly connect your ORCID and JQuant accounts.

ORCID, the Open Researcher and Contributor ID, is a free, unique, persistent identifier (PID) for individuals to use as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities. ORCIDs are provided to researchers free of charge so that all who participate in research, scholarship, and innovation be uniquely identified and connected to their contributions across disciplines, borders, and time. For more information, please visit https://orcid.org/.

If you are registered to JQuant but cannot remember your username and password, please do not register again, just reset your password from https://jquant.sissa.it/reset/step/1/.

After signing in you can update your profile, change password and connect your JQuant account to your ORCID account from your JQuant profile

User profile

Please make sure your JQuant profile is as complete and updated as possible, especially if you intend to submit a manuscript. Authors' information is necessary both for the review process for the sake of integrity and for publication, when more information may be requested.

Communications

For communications not related to a submitted manuscript, please contact the editorial office.

For communications regarding submitted manuscripts please use the "Write a message" button available in the "Actions" panel of the manuscript page. Please ALWAYS use these tools instead of normal e-mails so that these messages may be attended more quickly and efficiently. This will also ensure that the correspondence is included in the manuscript's timeline and accessible from its "Message and notes" page.

Navigating the system

The latest manuscripts published in JQuant are listed on its home page. Previous issues will be available at https://jquant.sissa.it/issues/.

From the home page you will also be able to search JQuant publication archive, also by means of an advanced search.

To access manuscripts either as an author, editor or reviewer, please access them either through direct links in the header of all email notifications that you will receive or login, click your name on the top-right of the home page and a drop-down menu will open showing you links to your JQuant personal pages (My Author Pages, My Editor Pages, etc.) according to the role(s) you play in the system.

Highlights on the "Pending preprints" page and yellow triangles on article pages show that the manuscript needs action: there is either a delay or a new message that needs to be "marked as read" from the manuscript's "Message and notes" page, accessible from the timeline.

Please access the guidelines for authors, guidelines for editors, guidelines for reviewers for more information.
