Draft: for editors from inside editor pages

Making decisions

JQuant seeks to ensure the highest quality standards. Editors are requested to apply strict filters in assessing articles and are expected to keep in mind the Journal Editorial Policy and Ethical Policy.

The Directors or the Editorial Office are happy to be contacted in case of need for scientific and editorial/technical problems.

Editor decisions in JQuant are:

  • Accept
  • Reject
  • Declare Not Suitable
  • Request major revision
  • Request minor revision

In addition, Editors can click "Allow metadata change" if authors have requested to update their paper's title and/or abstract.

All decisions close the current review round, and therefore any selected reviewers who have not yet sent their report are relieved of the assignment, except in case of "Allow metadata change", in which case reviewers may continue reviewing the article and will be informed when the title and/or abstract have been modified on the article page.

When making their decision, Editors should click the relevant link on the article page and are asked to draft the Editor report.

Important! Authors will not receive reviewer reports. They will receive the Editor report (if any). To ensure that authors receive reviewer comments, Editors must paste the content of the reviewer report into the Editor report and eventually edit them either to improve the tone or the content. If the reviewers have sent files (any format) together with their report, Editors can choose whether to forward them to the authors or not, but cannot alter them.

Once the editor report is ready and any files have been managed, Editors should confirm the decision and are redirected to the article page, where the status' label will have changed.

Automatic reminders

Editors can look up scheduled reminders (texts and timing) clicking the button "Check reminders plan" on the article page. They can disable/re-enable the ones scheduled to be sent out to reviewers from the "Review" section of the article page.
